    First, I want to thank anyone who will take the time out of their day to help computer users with issues. Thank you all!

    With that said my issue: On Thursday, 11/11/2010 I started to notice one of my PC's was running extremely slow. I tried running Symantec antivirus with no luck.
    I've followed all the steps in the Read Me First thread.
    I've attached the files from scans i could run: SAS, Combofix, MGtools. When I tried to run Malwarebytes is when I received the first BSOD. So I uninstalled it and ran the mbacm-cleanup tool.
    I had to run MGtools in Safe Mode and it ran. I rebooted the PC and then started to receive a BSOD on normal startup. I am able to start in Safe Mode so I did and grabbed the log files and mini-dump file.
    pddiqi.sys is the driver causing the BSOD and all my searches was unable to find what this is and what I should do. I tried to attache the dump file but could not. If you would like to view it please let me know.

    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,,

    Do you know what this is?

    • C:\KDILONARDO-2010.11.11-0840.27-00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000.zip

    Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2
    <--- uninstall this outdated java:

    If you did not deliberately set this proxy yourself then please include it in the HJT fix below:

    Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

    Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    After clicking Fix exit HJT.

    Now we need to use ComboFix
    • Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
      • If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    • Also make sure you have shut down all protection software (antivirus, antispyware...etc) or they may get in the way of allowing ComboFix to run properly.
    • If ComboFix tells you it needs to update to a new version, make sure you allow it to update.
    • Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below quote box. Ensure you scroll down to select ALL the lines:
    Code:
    KILLALL::

    DirLook::
    C:\cdc89d85041ef07cadf65540f419
    Driver::
    pddiqi
    Registry::
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\ControlSet001\Services\pddiqi]
    [-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchScopes\{C844D8B4-0B56-4E6B-BDDD-62FDE4C8F326}]
    File::
    C:\TEMP\eUnivBHOLog.tmp
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\pddiqi.sys
    c:\documents and settings\karen.vansyckelinc\stsf.bat
    c:\windows\system32\ls_syix.exe
    c:\windows\system32\syix.exe
    c:\documents and settings\karen.vansyckelinc\Application Data\sdfsf.bat
    c:\program files\111120108102764.bat
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Improve Your PC.lnk
    Folder::
    c:\documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\WSTB
    c:\documents and settings\karen.vansyckelinc\Local Settings\Application Data\{38EC08E0-A797-497D-A677-A23671D4EBE3}

    • Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    • At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    • You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    • Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe

      http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v666/sUBs/CFScriptB-4.gif

    • Follow the prompts.
    • When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    • I will ask for this log below

    Note:

    Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

    Please also download MBRCheck to your desktop

    • Double click MBRCheck.exe to run (vista and Win 7 right click and select Run as Administrator)
    • It will show a Black screen with some data on it
    • Right click on the screen and select > Select All
    • Press Control+C
    • Open a notepad and press Control+V
    • now please ATTACH that report to this thread

    Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this.

    Tell me how things are running... :)

    Kestrel,
    After trying to boot into safe mode again the computer is now stopping at windows\system32\drivers\isapnp.sys.

    Only option for a boot is recovery console now.
    Help! :)

    and to answer your question, I do not know what:
    C:\KDILONARDO-2010.11.11-0840.27-00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000.zip

    is...
    thanks

    Then when you can get back in, through either safe mode or normal mode you can delete it. Did you get to follow any of my steps or not?

    Yes, you may need to post in software for advice on getting back up and running so that you can then return here for malware removal.
