    This is computer #3. I started cleaning this in the fall of 2008 before I went overseas. No one has used it since. A 'Defender' type trojan had gotten into it and I was following the Read and run me first directions - never got it finished.

    Attached are the requested logs. Last attachment will be on the next thread.

    I am unable to connect to the internet with this computer. The error message says that a "network cable is unplugge". All cables are connected and working fine. ALSO at some point in trying to get on line, I have found that the driver for my Netware Client is missing. I was going to install it from the disk but I can not get the cd drive to open...!

    I downloaded all of the Read Me files to a thumb drive and loaded them on this computer. Thanks again and again for all of the help.

    You are extremely out of date with your copy of SUPERAntiSpyware and you were about 90 databases out of date with Malwarebytes. While I look thru your logs, I suggest you do the below:

    • Please uninstall your current version (this is necessary).
    • Then download this SUPERAntiSpyware
    • Install this new version. It may tell you that you need to reboot to complete the installation. You must reboot at this time.
    • After the reboot, run SUPERAntiSpyware and immediately click the Check for Updates button to get more updates for the database.
    • Now run a new full scan of your system. And attach this new log.
    Now run Malwarebytes and click the Update tab. Then click the Check for Updates button so you update to the current version of the program and database. Then run a new scan with it too. Make sure you fix the problems found before saving a log. Attach the new log.

    Just to be sure, please run this:
    * Please download TDSSKiller to your Desktop
    * Extract its contents to your Desktop so that you have TDSSKiller.exe directly on your Desktop and not in any subfolder of the Desktop.
    * Click Start > Run and copy/paste the following bold command into Run box and hit Enter.

    "%userprofile%\Desktop\TDSSKiller.exe" -v

    * Follow the instructions to type in "delete" when it asks you what to do when if finds something.
    * When done, a log file should be created on your C: drive named something like TDSSKiller.2.1.1_27.12.2009_14.17.04_log.txt which is based on the program version # and date and time run. Please attach this log to your next reply.

    Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

    Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

    * Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
    If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    * Also make sure you have shut down all protection software (antivirus, antispyware...etc) or they may get in the way of allowing ComboFix to run properly.
    * If ComboFix tells you it needs to update to a new version, make sure you allow it to update.
    * Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below code box into it (make sure you scroll all the way down in the code box to get all lines selected ):
    Code:
    KILLALL::

    File::
    C:\Documents and Settings\Melissa\Local Settings\temp\{1E005E81-5B1F-4AE3-AE1C-334DCCB6CC57}.tmp
    C:\Documents and Settings\Melissa\Local Settings\temp\{45AE6B4F-7729-4546-A867-F639EA432D81}.tmp
    C:\Documents and Settings\Melissa\Local Settings\temp\{4D939034-6C69-4C02-BF95-6925B7917D0A}.tmp
    C:\Documents and Settings\Melissa\Local Settings\temp\{8A242CC8-6159-46FE-93F4-B580F3C40BD6}.tmp
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\winevtbl.dll

    Registry::
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ShellServiceObjectDelayLoad]
    "Dxixbro"=-

    * Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    * At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    * You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    If it asks you to overide the prvevious file with the same name, click YES.
    * Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v666/sUBs/CFScriptB-4.gif
    * Follow the prompts.
    * When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    * I will ask for this log below

    Note:

    Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

    Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:

    * C:\ComboFix.txt
    * C:\MGlogs.zip

    Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

    I accidentally ran the TDSSKiller by double clicking on it the first time. I then did it the way you directed by entering the information into the Run line. Both logs are attached.

    I ran MGTools\GetLogs.bat. When I went to copy it to my thumb drive, it said the one I just made was older than the one I did yesterday...I don't understand. I attached both logs. The newest one is MGlogs2.zip.

    Did the ComboFix merge. The log that was produced also has a date of yesterday. Something is screwy. Anyway the log will follow.

    If you ran the Combo fix, then your logs will not be the same. Please attach the new MGLogs.zip.

    Did you replace SAS as Chaslang requested?

    Now re-run the C:\MGtools\getlogs.bat and attach the new MGLogs.zip.

    I re-downloaded MGTools to make sure I had the latest version and ran it.

    Log is attached.

    I was able to get the internet connection finally, however, last time I rebooted, I could not connect to my network!

    Thanks for all of your help!
