csrss.exe is part of Windows if running from C:\windows\system32

 

Google can sometimes help but obviously you cannot always trust everything you read since there are many reports of this file being bad too which is why you probably thought it also was bad yourself. However there would be many reports of it being a system file required for Windows and if you checked few Windows PCs of any version of Windows, you would see this process running on every PC. So if it is running from the system32 folder, in almost every case it is valid. The only problem would be when the real system file has actually been infected ( rare but it does happen ). Most antivirus programs would pick this up though.
