I have read and followed all of the instructions on the malware removal guide. As of right now, I am no longer having pop ups, but my add or remove programs is not loading correctly, and the online scans still found malware on my computer. Here are my scans. I would greatly appreciate your help!

Your ShowNew log is missing most of your uninstall list, which I guess has these programs that need to be removed (uninstalled):
    Wildtangent
    FunWeb
    OrbitView
    WinAntiSpyware 2007
    PopCap
    SalesMonitor

YOu also renamed the HJT folder...you were supposed to rename the .exe file.
Let's try to do some cleaning. Please run CCleaner and remove all the temp files.

    Download this file - Combofix.exe
Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
When finished, it will produce a log for you. Attach this log to your next reply

    Note:

Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

Run HijackThis and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    After clicking fix, exit HJT

Please copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.

Now download The Avenger by Swandog469, and save it to your Desktop.

    * Extract avenger.exe from the Zip file and save it to your desktop
    * Run avenger.exe by double-clicking on it.
    * Check the 'Input script manually' box.
    * Click on the magnifying glass icon.
    * Copy everything in the Quote box below, and paste it in the box that opens:

    * Now click the 'Done' button.
    * Click on the traffic light icon and OK the prompt.
    * You will be prompted to restart, OK the prompt and your PC should reboot, if not, reboot it yourself.
    * A log file from Avenger will be produced at C:\avenger.txt

    Now attach new logs for:
    ShowNew
    GetRun
    HJT --- renamed!
    Avenger
    ComboFix

Should these programs be on my add/remove programs list? They are not on my list, and my add or remove programs will not let me remove anything. It won't give me the option to remove.

It appears as though nothing was done from post #3 .....did you do the fixes and if so did you have problems with it?
    Please tell me what happened.

I did everything that you said, except

Your ShowNew log is missing most of your uninstall list, which I guess has these programs that need to be removed (uninstalled):
    Wildtangent
    FunWeb
    OrbitView
    WinAntiSpyware 2007
    PopCap
    SalesMonitor

These programs are not on my add or remove programs list, and my add or remove programs will not allow me to remove anything. Also, there are a lot of odd programs in my add or remove programs, that should not be there, such as...

    ESScore
    ESSSONIC
    ESSTOOLS

there are also at least 20 more like those.

    I believe that these :
are a part of the Kodak Easy share camera stuff.

    Avenger did not run ....
    Let's try it again:
Turn off any AV or anti-spyware that may be active.
Run HijackThis and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now ( one or two may be missing, if so don't worry about that):

    After clicking fix, exit HJT

Please copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.

    * Click on the traffic light icon and OK the prompt.
    * You will be prompted to restart, OK the prompt and your PC should reboot, if not, reboot it yourself.
    * A log file from Avenger will be produced at C:\avenger.txt

    Now attach new logs for:
    ShowNew
    GetRun
    HJT
    Avenger

Please look in your program files folder and tell me if you find this:
    C:\Program Files\MANTEC~1 or C:\Program Files\??mantec
The ?? could be letters ----delete it! (You may have to delete the contents before you can delete the folder ..but tell me first and tell me the creation date.)
    Also, what is this?
    C:\kjc^pwsb.txt

    You did good...we're almost home!

In my program files, I had two folders named Symantec. One was for my Norton antivirus, and the other was empty. The empty one was created on July 3, 2007.

I am not sure what the c:\kjc^pwsb.txt is. This is what it looks like.

The text file was your avenger text ....you can delete it.

And the empty "symatec folder of July 3rd. can be deleted.

Your logs look clean. You may uninstall any programs we had you download (including Counterspy).

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:

    1. If we used Pocket Killbox during your cleanup, do the below
    * Run Pocket Killbox and select File, Cleanup, Delete All Backups
    2. If we used ComboFix you can delete the ComboFix.exe file and associated C:\combofix.txt log that was created.
    3. If we user SDFix you can delete all the SDFix related files and folders from your Desktop or whereever you installed it.
    4. If we used VundoFix, you can delete the VundoFix.exe file and the C:\VundoFix Backups folder and C:\vundofix.txt log that was created.
    5. If we had your run FixWareOut, you can delete the Fixwareout.exe file and the C:\fixwareout folder.
    6. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    7. You can delete the ShowNew.Zip and GetRunkey.Zip files and the files that you extracted from the ZIP files. You can also delete the C:\newfiles.txt and C:\runkeys.txt logs that were created
    8. If you are running Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
    * go back to step 8 of the READ & RUN ME to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
    * Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    9. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
    * How to Protect yourself from malware!

Thank you for all of the help! I have one more question though. Is it ok to run my computer in selective startup for everyday use, or should I use the normal startup?

    Thank you so much!
