Thanks for looking at my post/problem .
I have started to try and resolve the issue using your guide i have downloaded all needed apps and maybe on the right track i hope .

After spybot S&D was done i came here as i still seemed to have a problem.

I removed as many unnecessary programs as i could using "uruninstaller"

    I ran SAS and found
    Trojan.Downloader-CREW
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DS16GT32.DLL
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DS16GT32.DLL
    quarantined ,log attached.
I also scanned with SAS again after and appeared clear , log attached.

Next i used Malwarebytes Anti-Malware ran it
the 1st log is prior to reboot as it needed to do this to complete repair/quarantine process,
the 2nd log is after reboot which appears clear .

I have gone no further at this stage as the adds and redirection has stopped and both scans say no infections found.

Do you think i should continue or could i have caught the problem early enough?.

    thanks

You need to continue and then attach the requested logs so we can check to be certain.

    Please attach the logs for:
    RootRepeal
    ComboFix
    C:\MGLogs.zip

One of your problems is that you did not disable TeaTimer as you were asked to do. Please do the following:

    * Run Spybot and click Mode
    * Select Advanced Mode.
    * Then click Tools and select Resident.
    * Now in the right window pane, uncheck TeaTimer.
    * Also while this is open, in the left column now select IE Tweaks
    * and then in the right pane make sure all the Miscellaneous locks are unchecked.
    * Now quit Spybot!

Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Now copy just the bold text below to notepad (Do not include any space above the word REGEDIT). Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:

    * C:\MGlogs.zip

Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

    Hi TimW

    Thanks for your help

yes a message saying it added succesfully came up

    MGlogs.zip attached

All seems to be working fine so far with no issues.
I have re enabled SAS and Malwarebytes and Avast only, left spybotS&D off for now.
My windows wants to download updates but i am avoiding doing this at this stage.

Good to know. Your logs look clean. I would suggest you only download security updates for your version of windows as well as updates for all your AV and AS software.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no real-time protection. They are useful as backup scanners. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /u, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    5. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    6. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    7. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    8. If you are running Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to tahe cleaning procedures ian step 3 the READ ME for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore ato create a new clean Restore Point.
    9. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
