Malware/Virus! Please help

    I was reading through the guide, and I got stuck very early on..

    Windows XP Home, SP3
    Known Symptoms:
    1) Double-clicking a drive in My computer opens the drive in a new window
    2) "Folders" button pressed upon opening an explorer window
    3) Show Hidden/System files automatically reverts to hide after I hit apply.

    I was running Photoshop and saving to a USB drive when Nod32 updated and computer crashed (ctrl+alt+del = no response, Mouse movement extremely slow).

    I scanned with Spybot & cleaned some programs, but the issues persisted--am currently doing a Full Scan w/ Adaware in SafeMode w/ Networking..

    I cannot get Show Hidden Files to stay on in Normal nor Safe Mode.. I read something about a virus/worm that creates autorun.ini files in each drive that causes these symptoms. After AdAware finishes, I'm planning on running a Full Nod32 Scan of all 3HDDs, 2 Externals, & USB drive.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

    The instructions say that if something doesn't work....move on. Ad-aware is worthless. It is possible that any thumb drive could be infected, which means you need to have it plugged in when you run the scans from the Read and Run Instructions.
