Malware wont allow me to install anything!

Hello all,

I'm hoping you can help me. I've noticed that my girlfriend's computer is infected with so much spyware/malware that it is absolutely unreal that it still runs.

Basically, I've went as far as following all the steps before posting the hijackthis log but I've been interrupted with the fact that the computer does not allow me to install any virus scanners! When I tried to install AVG, it simple closed the installation. The only program I was actually able to install was Ewido. But that only does so much.

Now my question is this, is there any way to clean that computer via some portable applications since installing anything is not happening at all. I dont know what kind of malware locked the registry, but it is down right fierce and I don't know a way around it.

Attached to this is the hijack log. Any tips & help would be great and extremely appreciated.

Welcome to Majrogeeks!

There is a lot more in the READ & RUN ME then antivirus applications. Please follow ALL the steps and attach all the logs that you can. There are many steps in there that you did not even try. In fact, you did not even try to install and rename HijackThis as was requested in step 7 (which is the last step). If you cannot run the two online scanners in step 6, just skip them but make sure you try. It is your security that suffers if you don't try. Also if you could run Ewido you should be able to attach a log from it too. Also AVG Antispyware is the new program name for Ewido so you may be able to run it too.

Here is an important tip for you just incase this PC is used for anything financially related.

You have a password stealing trojan installed. You are strongly advised to do the following immediately:

1. Disconnect infected computer from the internet and from any networked computers until the computer can be cleaned.

2. Call all of your banks, credit card companies, financial institutions and inform them that you may be a victim of identity theft and to put a watch on your accounts or change all your account numbers.

3. From a clean computer, change *all* your online passwords -- for email, for banks, financial accounts, PayPal, eBay, online companies, any online forums or groups you belong to.

Do NOT change passwords or do any transactions while using the infected computer because the attacker will get the new passords and transaction information.

The above is even more of a reason why you need to do as much of the READ & RUN as possible.
