Malware

    My computer wasworking just fine till two days ago. I suddenly started getting Windows XPAntiVirus 2008 warnings and a Wallpaper message which says ' Spyware detected on your computer'.

    I tried running the Read and Run this steps. My laptop keeps crashing when I run SAS, Spybot, and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. I am not sure what to do. My computer has been restarted a number of times due to crashing during these scans. Please help!

    Have you first tried doing a system restore to before you were infected?

    Have you booted to safe mode and tried running the scans?

    Can you run MGTools?

    Sorry - my laptop had been giving major issues. IE 6 does not open anymore and I have posted a separate post for that. I have downloaded Firefox through safe mode with networking and am using that. Whenever I try to open control panel to remove any unusual programs listed in the 'Read and run first' posting, control panel does not open. explorer.exe is running at 98-99% when I go to task manager. This also happens in safe mode. How do I proceed?

    YOu try to do everything you can from the Read and Run First instructions in safe mode. If you can't run or do an item, skip it and continue on. I need to see any logs you can get me..esp. the MGTools log which will be here ---> C:\MGLogs.zip
