    Hi,
    Windows 7 professional in use.
Sometimes my pc is real slow.
But it then runs fien with no pop ups etc.
When i open Chrome i have Gmail tab, Ebay Tab & Whattsapp tab.
If im on say Chrome then switch to Ebay then ebay starts doing its thing but if i then swap to another then back again its as if ebay went to sleep or stopped, coming back to ebay then seems to carry on where it left off.Seems the same for any of these or others that i open.

Can you advise some software that i could run to check out what you think might be doing this ?

I have Spybot search & destroy & also Free version of AVG

Do you advise to remove these & install Malwarebytes
    Thanks

Do you Ctrl+Alt+Del and look at what the processes are doing?
What are your PC specs? CPU & RAM?

Malwarebytes full time on our 4 aging Windows 7 computers. I do NOT run Chrome - too many resources. If MBAM does a scan or downloads a large update, like going from v 4 to v 5, the computer can slow down.

I only run MBAM and MS Security Essentials which is still being updated on Windows 7. I never ran Spybot and I haven't used AVG in decades.

What program uses Tea Timer? When I search I get results on how to time a cuppa!!!

Tes timer is spybot of which i have now removed.

Are you saying that now it is ok to install Malwarebytes & also remove the free version of AVG

    Yes.
With v5, the version that you will get when you download it, you might see an error on a Windows 7 computer. I got an error on two of the three that updated in the background. I had to install MS Visual C++ 2015 before MBAM would install. One was a 32 bit running Win 7 Pro and the other was a 64 bit running Win 7 Home.

I believe I downloaded it from here
