Sometimes malwarebytes will block a threat but it is isn't, and then the file disappears right before my eyes.

I'm trying to retrieve that file that malwarebytes blocked but can't find it. Where did it go? Is it deleted or quarantined in some folder that I can simply "restore" back to it's original folder?

If you're meaning that Malwarebytes is falsely detecting a file as a threat, it is/was then moved into MB's quarantine folder. Follow these instructions to restore the file and then add it to the files list to be excluded from scans.

Thanks for that reply. Yes, I checked there but the file is not there. In fact, nothing is there at the moment.

Are you using Malwarebytes Free (scanner/remover only) or the Premium version that has "real-time" protection?

Note: The freeware version does NOT automatically quarantine or delete detections. We frequently have to tell posters in the malware forum to "re-run MB and take action on what was detected."

Ok, I will check the settings and let you know.
My MB is the full version (premium) with real-time protection shield.

If MB just deletes it, how come it doesn't show up in the recyle bin?
    Thanks again for the responses.

ok, I think I know what I have to do in the future so it doesn't just delete the files. I will go into settings and under 'detection and protection' will change "PUP detections" from "treat detections as malware" which just deletes them to 'warn user about detection' so i can have the chance to exclude it before MB auto deletes it without asking me first.

Thanks so much for you guys taking the time to respond!
