    Hi,
I have been using Malwarebytes free version for many years now,but the last two version 3.0 , 3.0.6.1469 load very slow. When I click the Malwarebytes Icon it takes about 45 seconds to load ,before it would load as soon as you clicked on the Icon. Once loaded it runs super fast with no problems, my PC is clean ( Everything runs perfect ). I've tried a complete uninstall of Malwarbytes and reinstall with the same results. I even shut down my Anti-Virus and Firewall, but still loads slow.

I've experienced exactly the same thing on Windows 10 and, truth be told, I don't like it at all compared to the last version 2, which is what I have reverted to.

Must be a bug in the Program, it is much faster but I do not like the slow loading.

  4. It might be because in order to create faster scans they had to add more processes in the programming which could mean it would take more time for the program to load it's newly added processes. Just a thought.

Malwarebytes 3 is significantly different from Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.x.
It combines what used to be three separate programs: Anti-Malware, Anti-Exploit and Anti-Ransomware.
Anti-Exploit and Anti-Ransomware are still available separately.

Malwarebytes 3 is probably not only loading more processes but it may be doing more work as soon as it loads.

How long have you had Malwarebytes 3.0 installed?

During the first 14 days it includes:
    Real-time protection
    Anti-exploit
    Anti-ransomware
    Malicious website protection

After 14 days it becomes an Anti-malware/Anti-spyware/Anti-rootkit scanner, and in theory should load faster.

    Hi Eldon,
Sounds like your describing the 14 day trial version, I have the free one ( no real time Protection ). If you looked at my first post, it says that I have the free one. Thanks for your help.

Yes the same with my experience. I turned off/disabled the free real time trial and it was still annoyingly slow when launching. I also don't like the GUI one bit. I have ransomware elsewhere so didn't need that. I prefer the stand alone V2 free version. The GUI is simple and straightforward and it launches very quickly.

New 3.0.6.1469 update is available that squashes many things that were crashing, hanging or otherwise being slow. By the way, my install loads Malwarebytes (Free) from the taskbar when I open it, within 10 seconds. I have the program installed on a regular hdd and Windows on an ssd.
