    I have the Malwaredefender2009 messing up my computer. Have not let it download, and have not purchased the software, but I am getting its annoying attempts to tell me that I need to download the software. I understand that I am infected .. Is there a free program that removes this before it gets a stronger hold.

    I followed the instructions in the sticky for READ & RUN ME FIRST: Malware Removal Guide ... . . and the Malwaredefender2009 appears to be gone. Has been about 2 hours since I completed the procedure; and no signs of it at this point.
