Just saw this on the news and I am outraged
Why target kids????? These people have no compassion or respect of life and they disgust me
This is absolutely appalling and should be condemned by the world community in the strongest way.

My thoughts go out to the relatives of the dead and best wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured and their families.

Today should be marked as a day of shame and all religions should think about the damage religious zealots can do

Work up early this morning to this awful news. It's especially devastating to occur in the middle of the most important General Election campaign in 25 years, pushes off the agenda all the critical policy issues around the economy, health, education, housing and social care, and the Brexit negotiations. This only aids the most reactionary forces in society and the establishment, and once again distracts our attention from decades of foreign policy in the Middle East that has brought about these atrocities.

 

Really sad! So senseless and cruel. Prayers for victims and families.

 

We now know much more about the attack in Manchester 48 hours ago.
We know it was a 22 year old British born son of devout Muslim Libyan parents - who emigrated to the UK from Libya at the beginning of the 1990s and subsequently returned to live there in 2011 - who was the 'mule' that carried the suicide bomb.
Some uncomfortable facts though, that have both endangered the UK Police and Security services strategy for investigating the contacts of this mule and indicated a lost opportunity some years ago when neighbouring Muslims in his home neighbourhood actually warned the Police about his extremist views and support for suicide bombing - have come to light.
Firstly, the USA media published the attacker's full name completely contrary to UK Police & Security Service judgements because of their reasonable belief need NOT to give accomplices time to evade a search. That USA media also gave information about the device that could only have come from CSI evidence from the scene. The UK & USA Security Services share information. So we don't know if the US journalists have a corrupt UK or USA intelligence officer in their pockets. It must be one of those two.
Secondly, two different local Muslims known to and local to the attacker phoned a confidential Hotline several years ago warning very directly about this 22 year old and his potential for exactly what he did. An investigation in to that has now been started but frankly, who knows if they actually did made a serious life-threatening mistake in not following those up, will they ever admit that.
Six further people - all but one in the region of the attack - have been arrested, as has been his UK resident older brother. In Libya, his younger brother and parents have been arrested in Tripoli. His younger brother is quoted as saying directly that he knew what his brother was going to do in Manchester.

 

Then he needs a cell phone triggered nail and shrapnel laden bomb strapped to his arse and put out in a field and then have his number dialed!

I know - in a civilized world we don't do those sort of things, but many families who had loved ones lost or injured would maybe say go ahead - do it!

 

Most likely because they know how to "hit us" the hardest, emotionally.

 

The person who did it was young - he blended in.
