yeah well my ambient temp is relatively high because i've just got one intake fan (120mm led)
two output fans.. one on power supply , other on side of case..

so ive got 4 blue fans..... at least 3 are leds..

well ..... i want to put in some more fans... ive got

    vantec uv led fan
    sleeve bearing super flower...
rotarty dc fan. brushless turbo.. rjrj(chinese?) x2

well... ive got an atomic side panel on my case with an output fan right in the middle of it which is pretty cool lookin lol...

should i post a pic of my case or what? i dont know which fans are good or bad.. i got these for free from my uncle with a few other cool things... opinions?

basically what you're goin for is pulling in the same amount of air you're pushing out

there should be a place for u to mount an intake fan on the front which will match/even out your exhaust fan. use the fan on the side for an intake, not an exhaust. the PSU fan will match up with that one. if u cant mount a fan in the front there are things u can buy which allow u to use like 2 empty drive bays to mount a fan or u can make something yourself which is always fun

if u have a big bunch of wires hanging all up in your case like some techno-jungle vines then moving those or re-routing them better will help keep temps down

EDIT: i just reread to make sure i got everything. so ur saying u dont have an exhaust fan on the back of your case aside from the PSU fan? if u post up a pic of the case i can draw up something on it to show where u should put the fans

In simpler words, Intake fans in front, exhaust in back, side intake, exhaust on top if you have it.

Here is something I posted in another thread where someone asked the same question. Sleepy and Viper make the same points. Remember, hot air rises so you want exhaust fans to be higher and intake fans to be lower, generally speaking. So, the intake fan in the front should be on the lower front of the case pulling air in. There should be some exhaust fans in the upper rear near the processor zone pushing air out. This leads to a final question- How many fans do I need? You need as many as to keep the case cool and promote good airflow, within reason. You want to maintain as close as possible to neutral air flow. Remember, in one way, a case can be described as either positive-pressure or negative-pressure. Positive-pressured cases have a larger intake than exhaust, while it’s the opposite for negative-pressured ones. Too much of either will create competition between both forces and will slow the fans. Too many fans pushing air out will make them compete for air in the case, slowing them while too many pulling air in will force the intake into competition, slowing them. You also force air out of cracks and crevices in the case, or vice versa. Here is a good diagram from another thread.

Also note that you may have intake fans on the side of the case near the vid card and another direct to the processor. You may also consider a blow hole on the top (remember hot air rises) to help. Try to keep neutral air flow- your fans won't be competing (there is only so much air that can be pumped in or out and fans will slow when air pushes back on them). Also consider obstacles in the way of air flow (such as thick cables). Good luck.

I really have no openings on the front of my dell case and it is getting too hot. Does anyone know the name of some fans that can be mounted in drive bays? The only kind I have seen are for hard drive coolers, and the fans look pretty weak (though I suppose its better than nothing).
