Space. The final frontier. These are the voyages of the Mars Rover Curiosity. It's continuing mission, to explore strange new craters, seek out long-extinct life, and ancient civilisations. To boldly go where a lot of robots have gone before.

Maybe curiosity will find the long lost beagle and they'll have a baby,a beariosity:-D

    Great stuff though!

Shame with all that technology though they give us a countdown to when the pictures will be broadcast, you have to be pretty to committed to stare the live test page waiting.

    LOL

Feeling a bit blasé are we? Or were your Cheerios just soggy this morning?

In my opinion, a device would have to be completely autonomous to be a true robot, which Curiosity isn't . . . but that's just semantics. Surely if you are bored with space exploration itself, the myriad of technological advances that have sprung from such activity must quicken your pulse somewhat? ;)

@Rikky - Yeah, I was wondering about the thumbnail issue.
The NASA.gov site was showing pictures from the hazard cams, but the JPL site wasn't displaying them.

I was actually considering the evolution path from this landing, and the ones before it, in a linear progression matrix.

First object in space --> first animal in space --> first man in space --> moon landings --> telecoms satellites --> mars robot landings --> moon blasting experiments --> more mars robot landings --> ??? --> invention of warp drive & first contact (April 5th 2263) --> interstellar faster-than-light travel.

I am very excited by the prospect of all this, and I am glad I am around to see the continuation of the mars missions.

Now, where is that star trek themes cd...

That was my next guess . . . after the Cheerios LOL

I'll hold you too that. I'll wager, let's say, the equivalent of $10.00 in whatever the unit of exchange is then (credits, latinum, quatlues . . . I'm flexible). Mark your calendar! (or tell your droid to remind you).
