The last few days I have noticed that my email server and AD server are fighting over who should be the master browser. Aside from filling up the system logs on both machines, I thought about selling tickets and letting them duke it out, and then figured like 3 people would even remotely care.

So instead, I decided to do some research and found a Microsoft article that talks about a "hotfix" to make the AD server the master browser permenantly. Does anyone know where I could get this without shelling out several more hundreds of dollars to Billy and Co?

The machines are configured as such:

    AD Server
HP Proliant ML 330 series machine
Windows 2003 Server with all service packs and updates
    P4 machine, 1 GB RAM

    Email Server
Compaq Proliant ML 350 series machine
Windows 2000 Server with all service packs and updates
    P3 machine, 1 GB RAM

    Thanks for any help.

Call them, all hotfixes are free.

Alternately, you can disable the Browse Master on the email server.

Thanks, I'll give it a try
