Matrox Pharpelia V's the Quaddros or FireGls

Ok this is a bit of an ongoing query, Oma had previously suggested a Quattro FX card for running animation, so I've decided to go down that route when I build my new computer, however I would like to know since I started to delve into this a bit further, whats the difference between the Matrox Pharpelia and the Quaddros or FireGls, which would be the best for running TBH software or any animation software?
