I have just been given a Maxtor DiamondMax 10 Model 6L080L0 80Gb PATA133 hard drive.

I am intending to put it in an XP machine as a slave drive. I have done this before altho not with this brand of drive.

The jumper settings on the rear of the drive are:

(DS) Master / CS Enabled / Cap Limit /

    It also states that:
    No Jumper = DS Slave

Presumably I just remove the jumper and the drive will be a slave on the same IDE channel as the c: drive is?

Any helpful comments welcome and thanks.

    Happy easter

    You got the general Idea:major

I usually avoid CS sometimes problematic
Master is boot, Slave = Slave
