MAY have malware not sure...

Really not sure of the problem but was referred here for my situation.I've tried to do the R&RM only got as far as the Windows XP Cleaning Procedure for win xp. was able to do and scan with everything except MBAM. I have downloaded it from MJ and MBAM sites have renamed,uninstalled and reinstalled. but it just won't run the scan. It comes up with a "error message"Error loading database line 51935"(this last time) every time (it takes about 45-50sec to show and that's the quickest time)I try to scan.
I went through this before and ran into the same prob but it was a little slower in over all and just did a new format. after up dating everything and getting it back on track (I thought) it started running slow again. I thought if I did the R&RM again it would go through, as there were no old programs or files from before. No luck as you can tell I'm here. This is a Dell Dimension Dimm2350 if that helps.
Can I skip it and go to the next step?

 

OK I think I know what the problem is. The fact that I only have 128MB ram is causing me not to be able to download and run these programs.I had advast and had to remove it to run MBAM but I in stalled AVG at half the space consumption( Advast took 80.+MB where as AVG only 47MB).before Avg was in the MBAM scan just find after Avg the same error message.I'm just going to have to up grade the ram before I can do anything else with it.
