McAfee virus scan

I was reinstalling McAfee and after the download it would not install and gave me this error message "McAfee Integrated Security Platform Installer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
I tried a number of patches with McAfee and got the same error. I’m running widows XP and 2 hard drives. The second problem accrued when someone suggested to install it in the 'safe mode" I would not allow me to start in safe mode. The error was "Windows was not registered" I tried to register it and it said it was registered. Confused? Please help

 

I an oprating windows XP with SP2 the operating system was installed when I purchased the computor. I do have a licenced copy of McAfee

 

did you try to reinstall via their website on your McAfee 'Account' page? yes
- Have you sought any help/received any answers yet from McAfee Live Support?Yes they were not able to help me

it?*McAfee said you are not fully protected. I was not able to fix this problem so I contacted them. They had me remove the program using a removal tool they supplied tryed three times with them with no scucess.

 

I can not open the CCleaner It just flashes and shuts off. I tried downloading different versions with the same results.

 

I did not find any malware items from the list located in my add or remove programs. I ran Addaware and it found some items but I still am unable to open CCleaner. It just flashes.
