   Hi there
   Can anyone tell me whether mchinjdrv.sys is
   it turned up on my comp yesterday via alert from windows defender and whilst i denyed access it caused my window to error and freeze

   It is a legit process and denying it will cause your programs to crash ....I think it is probably a false positive with defender ......did you just install defender or did you just have an update with it?

   An update might have tripped it ....esp. if none of the other scans report it.
