    Hi Guys,

I've been with MOH since the start and have most of the games. I've delayed buying this game as I have read that the SP version (which is the only one I play) is very short. I have also read that it is a big departure from the previous games, but I'm not sure how.

I would be obliged if any of you SP players of this game would let me have your views and whether you thinks it's worth buying.

    Thanks
    Cozzielex

The single player MOH 2010 is easily described in 1 word..... "Awesome!"
But.... it IS very short, I cleared it on hard setting in about 5 hours first time, but it was good enough that when the credits finished rolling I started again on the harder difficulty and played until I cleared it again.
It is a far cry from previous MOH games in that it;s set in modern times, you are fighting the Taliban, it's a little contriversial in that respect.
But even though it's short, it IS a fantastic game in my opinion, very well put together, very stable, very exciting and has some very cool sections , such as the helicopter level.... it's one of those games that makes you feel like a GOD lol

Like I said, the only real difference from previous games is that it's not WW2, everything else is well built, I's say it's the best MOH since Frontline..... but it's short.

Is it worth the price tag if you only play single player?..... Not really, but then I'm glad I got it, so for me it was worth it..... the length of the game is it's only downfall, everything else is great.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks for that Nedlamar, you have tipped me in favour of getting it instead of Call of Duty which seems a bit precarious at the moment.

I note what you say about starting it in 'hard', that should certainly spin it out for me!

If it OK, I'll let you know how I get on with it.

    Thanks

Good luck.... you ARE going to need it when those enemies start rushing you in hordes..... and in one level I DO MEAN hordes ;)

Oh dear!...I have a deep-seated and irrepressible fear of hordes!

Nothing like a charging herd of hordes.

You can say "Target rich environment", can't you?

Ah yes. The well known phenomenon Zergius Paranoius... ;)

mmm...being targeted by a herd of hordes in a target rich environment will bring me down with zervius paranoius; is there a patch for that?

    Sorry.
Only thing I know to do is to blow the:crap out of as many as you can.
    May make it. May not.
But go down with fire in your eyes. :wave;)

lol It's cool, the one level you will think you're gonna have a blast with all these enemies.... until your cover is blown away, so you fall back.... and you cover gets blown away... so you fall back.... you get the idea... until there are 3 of you hiding behind cover not big enough for 3 of you and there's more enemies than there were at the start of the level.... it's fun, but don't lose your head, stay calm.... you can do it ;)

This probably depends on difficulty setting as to how intense it feels :)

Right that settles it I'm down to the shop for MOH tomorrow, Black Ops can wait!

By the way is MOH still done by EA games?

Sadly not. You simply have to plan ahead for them, hope for the best, and be ready with damage control and medics to mop up afterward.

Yep, still EA, unfortunately the MOH's have been made by inferior devs since Infinity Ward started with COD, IW was made up of 80% of the dev team that made the first few MOH's, but I think Dice had a hand in MOH 2010 (DIce made Battlefield Bad Company)

@Mimsy... Normally I would agree, but this one level requires no planning... it's more simple, 3 steps...

    1: Hide
2: pop up and shoot anything that moves until you are nearly dead
    3: Hide until health regenerated

    Rinse and repeat

Step 4: Classified...... Just try to survive :-D

    Nedlamar,
Ive been out and bought it and I'm not disappointed so far, although I started on 'easy', but thanks for your advice since I don't begrudge the £35 price tag.
Can you please help me to understand 'Tier 1' (I'm a bit old & doddery!); am I right to understand that this is a more difficult re-run through which you need to be online for and that you can only start it after you have completed to SP campaign completely?
    Thanks again.

Tier 1 mode is online, it's bascally insane difficulty with timed missions etc, not sure if it's co-op since I havn't actually tried it yet lol
But yes you have to be online to play it and it's simply the single player campaign on ultra realistic difficulty, not for the faint of heart lol

    Glad you're enjoying it :)

Found myself as the weapons officer on an Apache in Afghanistan...I do wonder (on the question of credibility) whether the U.S.Army would really appoint a myopic sexagenarian into such a position especially as I can't see the guys with the RPGs and have been thus responsible for the destruction of 142 american helicopters. Just as well I don't have a blue passport!
Great fun!!! (and better than the gunship sequence in CoD MW)
    Thanks
