Media Center Issue

I recently installed Media Center on my newly built PC. When I try to record a TV show, it will only record bits and pieces. For one show in the "Recorded Shows" tab, there will be the same show listed at least twice; one being 2 or 3 minutes, and the other being 18 minutes.. something like that. I've tried updating software and drivers, but to no avail. Any suggestions?

Also, I've been doing a bit of reading, and it appears that if you are running an x2, you may need the dual core patch, from AMD.

You are running MCE 2005 with all MCE rollups?

Also, as a test, try disabling any antivirus programs on your computer. In addition, during recording, you are not doing anything within the process of recording, are ye?
