I have no idea what is going on, so I will try to describe this the best I can.

When I try to cut and paste a file, move a file, or put anything onto my desktop. It doesn't show that it, did what I told it to do. Until I manually refresh the desktop.

Another issue...when I try to run a MP3 with WMP, the song loads, but the player instantly becomes non-responsive. And I have to use task manager to close it. Now I can use VLC to listen to my music and it works fine, but why is the one on Windows 7 giving me issues?

    Any ideas? Is this common?

Check if the mp3 coded is still installed.

I was going to tell you to use sfc /scannow to repair broken files but read that SP1 in Win 7 breaks this. So that's not an option.

If this behavior is recent, have you tried restoring to an earlier time to get back the cut/paste move/copy and mp3 playing with WMP?
