Has anyone else here been watching the US Open this year? More specifically Melanie Oudin..

I have to admit, I was behind Maria Sharapova when they played, but I'm on the band wagon now. Here's the story for those of you who missed it. She plays today at some point.

Good to see an American doing so well playing tennis. Hard to imagine she's only 17, we'll be hearing about her for a while I'd imagine.

That's cool for you guys. I can't watch womens tennis or at least listen to it, the screaming turns me right off!

 

I think it's the idea of one on one competition that does it for me. I mean, there are very few televised, non-motorsports that can compare to a tennis match. It's funny you say about the screaming. The broadcasters pick up on that too. "She must have given up, no yells." "Maybe she's saving it for the next set, she's not making any noise."

I have to admit, If I was standing on a tennis court in front of thousands of people, and Maria Sharapova launched a 115 mph tennis ball at me, I'd scream too, but I'm not thinking it would be the same kind of scream they let out... LOL

 

I think she is just great myself! Very cool and together :cool

She lost to Caroline Wozniacki in straight sets 6-2 | 6-2

She'll undoubtedly be heard from again though, she's only 17 for crying out loud.
