    I had an idea but want some opinions on it.

    What if we had something like Member of the month for community members to honer what thy have done here and for the community.

    Good idea bad idea?

    While I think your heart is in the right place, pclover, I don't think you can do something like that here at MGs.

    There are so many members here in the tech forums that help out. It's all these people as a whole that make this forum what it is.

    Just my opinion. :)

    Hi

    I have to agree with Laura and too many too choose from that devote much of their freetime to help in the tech forums to choose from, then knowing how forumworld works you'd always get arguments over why someone else won! over them.

    Good idea though

    Hi

    Ideas are good, within the admin team we do field many ideas to see how we can add to the forum more to benefit the users experience, 99% of the ideas fall by the wayside but if you have a great idea do tell us as you never know it maybe a great idea for Majorgeeks or one of Tims other sites.

    Majorgeeks ethos if you wish is basics is best, we have over the years tried many ideas but many just make the forum look tackyish and not what the core of the forum is about, which is good quality PC support and an atmosphere where the very basic questions can be asked without fear of being made a fool of or ridiculed.

    Whilst i agree with what you say Digital i do not think this idea runs.

    Many members come here just for the ambiance of the site and are not able to contribute to more techie posts but still contribute to the site.

    Others out of the goodness of their heart devote many hours and unlimited patience to helping others.

    Then you have the middle ground of those who will help the less techie members with their limited knowledge find a solution or forum that will better serve them (i hope i fall in here)

    So i think you would find the voting bias and not a realistic view of the role members play in keeping this the top tech site on the planet.

    I am one of the members who is here every day without fail but that does not make me a better member than those who comes in for a couple of hours per month.

    Some of those you suggest could be fun.

    Not being admin myself it would not present a problem but i think it would be a nightmare for Halo/Laura and their colleagues to keep it under control.
