Memorial weekend ,cops and guns

As I sit on my front porch on Sunday morning the peace is interrupted by the sound of squealing tires and shouts of "show me your hands MF" (not for me the neighbor next door)

So no less than 9 cop cars block the street ,everyone draws weapons and take up defensive position behind my truck (parked in front of my house). I am almost staring down the barrel (who knew a 9mm was so big) of there guns ...Kids playing on the lawn across the street-- people out front of there houses enjoying the sun..(you get the idea)..The cop standing behind my truck is shaking so hard he could not hit the broad side of a barn.... 15 minutes later they finally figure out that no one is home.,(nor have they for 2 days)...When I asked what was going on they said they had gotten a call of a gang fight (OMFG)are they are insane, its a 55 yr old white couple with no kids both work full time and have no gang ties--- my whole block is families and working stiffs
Found out later that they had the wrong address- not just the number but the whole street OOOPS---anyway Thanks Petaluma Police for ruining a beautiful Sunday morning
You would think they could get an address right haven't they heard of map quest

anyway had to get that off my chest--I still see the BIG gun shaking pointed in my general direction....shudders

Sounds like a dangerous gang if I ever heard of one.
You would think that the police would have better sense, info, and tactical skills, but that stuff happens in every city.
Too bad it had to happen near you.

Ma and Pa kettle no doubt. Funny thing about having the be Jesus scared out of you every once in a while, it kind of makes you appreciate life more, and realize that things aren't so bad after all. Isn't that why amusement parks and gory movies are so popular? Book 'em Dano..

Something like that would make my Sunday the whole street would be out drinking beers and talking about it for the rest of the nightgiven staring down the barrrel of a gun isnt something on my 'to do' list.

 

Was it anything to do with it being a Sunday and getting Overtime pay ??

 

@ rikky Yea there was a fair bit o discussion about it afterwords but no one heard or saw much till they were right there --so lots of guesses but no facts...

yup thought about that what with us being a small town with a decidedly large police force (not a bad area -just a rookie training station) and since the only other big crime over the weekend was the usual drunks they were probably bored...

Yeah the adrenaline rush was not wasted cleaned the house and stayed up three hours past my bedtime zzz....oh well always meant to organize that file cabinet

I just talked to a neighbor on the next street and it appears there was a family argument on the next street . The one neighbor across the street called it in as a gang fight just to get the cops to show up in a hurry(bad blood between them)..Cops found out and the caller ended up being the only one going to jail (filing a false report) darn that is stupid oh well
It was a fun weekend never the less...
