    Hello,

I was wondering if, when buying memory for my computer, would it matter much if I mix up the frequency of the memory modules? for example, i have a dell computer and the manual says it supports 100 MHz memory modules but I want to buy this 512MB memory module and it's 133 MHz. My computer max. memory is 512, so I would only have one memory stick in so would it matter if i put a memory stick of 133 MHz in my computer even though my computer's manaul recommends 100 MHz? any information would be greatly appreciated!

    thanks!

if you're using a pentium 3, the 512mb limit, i believe, is referring to total memory. in that case, the maximum memory size allowed is 256mb per module. you'd best get 1 or 2 256 meg modules to max out the memory, because if you plug in a 512mb module, the computer will only use 256 megs of it assuming it'll use any at all.

as for mixing speeds, it's fine. pc133 will run dandy on a pc100 system.
