Open my computer ...right click the c drive / properties / tools / error checking /check both boxes / apply / restart the computer ...this will check and repair the hard drive ....
Running memtest ....try memtest86 in MG's download tools.

Ok ran chkdsk... no probs but I wasn't able to get a report...computer went back to welcome page and when I clicked on my user account just my start screen with my icons showed up...hopefully this was run correctly? No problems with memtest. By the way, should I get rid of one of my three user accounts ( D, D1, ADMIN)? The last one (D1) was set up after some malware was discovered on my system about 6 weeks ago.

Let's not mess with the user accounts as yet ...what was wrong with the screen when you went into the account> No taskbar? Icons don't work? what?

No, there was nothing wrong. I walked out of the room and when I came back there was the welcome screen. I clicked on my latest user account (D1) and I got my normal windows screen. Everything appears to be ok. Should I start messing with the memory sticks?

No ....I should re-read your everest report and see if somewhere you are using 128 megs for something else (video cards or something) ......have you run the bitdefender scan?

Thanks Bazza. Should I start a new thread? This one is pretty long.

FYI...AVG AV started to run and I this popped up immediatly:
Under File it says "Boot Sector of Disk" Under Result/Infection it says "Reading Error" And Under Path it says C: Not sure if it means anything but I was having problems booting yesterday.

Doesn't sound real good. If I were you, I'd back up all your essential stuff, or better still do a full backup as well, right now while you can still read your C: drive, before proceeding any further. Bazza

Get into the bios and see if you have MBR virus protection enabled ....you use any floopy's? Or cd's or P2P software?

I did get to the BIOS (F10 while the system was booting) I didn't see anything MBR or virus.

I had windows based software designed for my website, when we transferred to a new server they have reported memory leaks that cause the server to need to be rebooted 2 or 3 times daily. Do you know of any program or a way to scan the site and pinpoint these leaks. We are desparate and can not seem to even stay on line without error messages like this:
Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'

    Unspecified error

    D:\WEBSITES\CRAFTY-ONES.COM\WWWROOT\../db/db.asp, line 4

There has to be some way to scan the code to check this, we have a couple thousand pages so it is not feasible to look at every page one by one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
