    I have [ G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 ] x2

My board, the [ ASUS Sabertooth 990FX ] Standard memory 1866/1600/1333/1066

Ive never seen any board with higher than 1866 unless it had (oc) next to it.

The highest my board has is 1866 period.

The highest speed for memory sticks i know of is 2800.

Would that (or ANY speed higher than 1866) work with my board? I wouldn't think so; until I noticed browsing boards on newegg there highest memory speeds were 1866.

If 2800 wont work on my board, what board will it work on?

I have a decent understanding of computers, but obviously I don't know everything so bare with me. >_>

The 2800's may work on your board but only at the maximum speed of the system.

I can get 800 MHz sticks for MY computer but they'll only run @ 533 MHz because that's the speed of my system.

I found an ASRock Z77E at newegg.com that supports the 2800 sticks for $139.99 if you're interested.
