Memory ?

I purchased a refurbished HP Pavillion XG838 Cel computer for my wife several years ago and it is doing great, But I purchased a digital camera for her and there is just not enough memory to run the program properly. I need all the advice that I can get about installing a memory card. How do I know which card to buy and is this a job that I should attempt? How about the price? I installed a USB 2 port card in my old computer. Is installing memory a bigger job?
She has 128Mb now and I beleive that she will need that much more. Can I add another card or do I need to buy a card with more memory?
Hope I don't sound too stupid, but really need some help. Thanks in advance for any help that anyone can give me.

Its not that difficult to install memory sticks. Adding memory is the best thing that can be done.

You can also go to Crucial here w.crucial.com/ and enter your model into the configurator to get types.
