I received several messages that went straight into my spam folder with the following message (verbatim incl spelling errors):

i know bravo920 is one of your password .
I've recorded your cam while you were watching p orn on X X sites, also I've installed a key logger on ur pc & collected all your c ontacts on s ocial networks, messenger & emails.
If you want me to erase the recording, pay me 1152$ on bit coin address: 3QAcDipRs8MwEbLBHVYKN3kNJ7nPveuGi5
(sea rch in Goo gle for "how to buy bit coin"), [case SenS itiVe so co py & pas te it].
If I don't get the bit coins, I will definately send your video to all of your con tacts, don't reply to this email it's ha cked. IKkIJj

They have come from three different senders and I am inclined to think that they are just are spam messages. But as well I would like to scan my computer to find if there are indeed keyLoggers installed and want to uninstall them if they are there. Can you help?

Follow Eldons advice but just FYI. Of all the malware removal I have done where people have been 100% convinced they were hacked not a single one had been "hacked" (someone figuring out or buying your password is not being hacked). This spammer probably got your login credentials from a list floating around on the internet that came from a data breach or they bough a list of credentials and this is how they are trying to make their money.

Immediately go to https://haveibeenpwned.com to find out what accounts of yours have been compromised and change the passwords on any website you use that email on especially if it is a financial or commerce website. Also check for malware as Eldon suggested.

I got the same email about a week ago but it was a password I had not used in years. They also only wanted $625. I have a feeling this is an old list they are using but still be safe and change passwords and check for malware.

i have received over 1500 of these messages over the last year or so.
[ yes, i have saved them all in a folder called dumb spam ]
i don't have a webcam nor do i have a microphone on my computer.
there's nothing much i can do about, i just ignore them.
the dollar amount always changes, along with the various threats if i don't pay up.
anyway, take care and good luck with it.

In my opinion, this is just another of the 100's of sites that tell visitors that "Yes! You've been [hacked/pwned/screwed/whatever]" umpteen times and then ding them for money to tell them who/what/when/etc.
A total waste of internet resources, IMO.

They just scan your email against lists of websites that have been compromised and tell you what website(s) you should change your password on. There is no money or involved.

It's all public information. This website just makes it easy to check your email. Also they don't tell you if your email is compromised or not. They just tell you if it is used on a website that has been compromised. If so then the rest is up to you.
