Hi! I wanted to share this message from Hugo Dong; President and Co-designer of IObit software. You can be assured they are working hard on this software. The advise from Hugo is do not use this software at this time. It affected my PC exactly the way Hugo explained it.:major:major
    Hello Gary,

Smart RAM release usable physical memory by store data on pagefile rather than the physical memory. So the size of pagefile will keep increasing. Thus when the processes read data from pagefile which will need more time and slow the computer speed and lead to the “no response” or "freeze' issue.

For your concern, please do not use Smart RAM as it cause this issue on your computer. Our specialists will improve this tool when they develop another new technology.

    Sorry for this situation.
PS Hugo has given me permission to release this on MG forum!

The earlier versions of SmartRAM weren't too aggressive and could be used for a day or two; I stopped testing it at around the time that Toolbox came out of Beta as it had become too heavy.

An alternative, as a workaround, is FreeRAM XP Pro 1.52

Go to the MG link above for much more info.
It hasn't been updated for 5 years, but doesn't need it, IMO
Despite the name, it also works on Vista and my Windows 7 Ultimate OS.
One of my "musthaves" on any PC I own, or use.
You can also right click on the icon to manually force a free Ram operation at any time.

Hi!! OK First of all I'm very glad I opened this thread. Now I want to ask this question, do I really need to use any of these RAM programs if I'm not having any problems?? I read how they work and can see they are different than Smart Ram, but will they really help me that much??
    Thank you for your reply's!;);)
    I run xp3 with 1GB of RAM.

oneeyejack, FreeRam XP Pro works for me, when I want it. Windows 7 is supposed to take care of this function without the need for any third party application but I still prefer FreeRam XP Pro. Other programs may also work, too, but I've never bothered to try them.

With only 1 gig of RAM, (and XP) you will see the benefit of a RAM freeing program, IMO.

OK thanks friend!! I will give one of them a shot and see if others agree with you. I don't see how my PC could run any better, but it's sure worth trying.
    Thanks!!;);)
