    Hello,
Ive had xp home for 2 years now without any major problems.
Thou, this has just started to happen when I turn on comp.
The XP logo starts, then its says (something like)
    "Checking NTFS
One of your disks is being checked for consistency
    Step 1 of 3
    Step 2 of 3
    Step 3 of 3
Click any key to exit within 8 seconds, 7,6,5,4,3,2,1"

Can anyone please advise on this.
    Thanks
    Jane

That means there may be a problem with the File system and Windows is going to check it to make sure it is OK, and fix any problems it may find. Let it run the NTFS Check.

Also when you do get into windows, run chkdsk to check for errors.

Go to my computer and right click on your hard drive. Go to the tools tab and select chkdsk. :) ;)
