    Hi guys, I need some help here.

    Im on Vista32 bit. I tried installing a game(Morrowind) on the C drive using the game disc. Instead of installing it in c/program files/ it got installed in just C. The install didnt complete, but I still have files of the game showing up in my c drive not within a folder. Also, I cant uninstall the game from the control panel, the option is there it just wont uninstall. It somehow also made a bunch of .sqm's and other hidden files to show in the C drive. I have Desktop notepads randomly everywhere, desktop,start menu,documents, etc. I also have a remote desktop icon in my documents folder that was never there. Oh and when I restart the computer two of these desktop notepads start to run/use cpu.

    I tried to do a system restore but there wasnt a restore point. My files are checked to not show hidden files or extensions. There may be other things that I havnt noticed. Im not sure what happened or what to do. Any suggestions or help?

    1) Try reinstalling.

    2) If that doesn't work, delete the registry entries + manual delete of files.

    3) If you're uncomfortable with thta, try Revo Uninstaller (freeware). What it will do is run the regular uninstaller, but it also finds and deletes junk/registry afterwards (so if the uninstall fails you can still get rid of them)

    Ok I resolved the game issue,thank you. Now the problems that followed after the attempt of the game installation are still ongoing.

    Two desktop.ini starts at start up. I was able to stop them from running using the Revo Account Manager. I would have used MSconfig but they werent showing up there. Also, I have multiple desktop/notepad icons on my desktop,start menu,task bar, documents folder, etc. that do not go away. Here is an example from the icon thats on the desktop also called desktop once opened. It opens up to a notepad and displays the following.

    [.ShellClassInfo]
    LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-21769
    IconResource=%SystemRoot%\system32\imageres.dll,-183

    Here is another example from the same looking icon thats on my task bar.

    [LocalizedFileNames]
    Shows Desktop.lnk=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-10113
    Window Switcher.lnk=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-10114
    Launch Internet Explorer Browser.lnk=@%windir%\System32\ie4uinit.exe,-733
    Windows Media Player.lnk=@%SystemRoot%\system32\unregmp2.exe,-4

    Another problem is that I have files ( MSDOS.SYS, IO.SYS,sqmdata00.sqm,etc.) that are being shown that were once hidden on my C drive. I have checked and unchecked the file options to show/hide important files, folders,and extensions. That still has not worked. Any help and suggestions would be appreciated. Sorry for the long post and thank you for your time.
