    Hey guys,

When i boot my pc up, I get a message stating,

Incorrect MFC Dll versions installed on the system, minimum requirement is MFC SP4 Dlls

This happened shortly after I had gotten a virus that I have solved with the Malware section of MajorGeeks

    Can you please help?

    thank you,

    Dino

One thing I forgot. when I hit okay or try to close the error message, it goes away, but comes back within a few seconds and this goes on forrever, so I just drag it to the bottom of my screen and let it sit.

At the top of the box in the blue header section, it says, "Wireless Configuration"

    Thanks again,

    Dino

    TimW,

I tried the scan now and it tries to come up, but the error message makes the run box go away, so, it does not work.

I made a print screen of my system 32 files. My issues arose around the 20th of this month. Can I send this print screen, which I saved in a .doc format, to you?

I wanted to ask before ssending because I know you have rules as to what you will accept as an attachment.

The things listed in this file are all foreign to me and do not make any sense. Could you look at it and tell me if something looks strange to you?

The only things I have downloaded in the past week or so is things from the Malware section of Major geeks.

    thanks,

    Dino

What error message ....what are you imputing? In the run box are you typing:
sfc /scannow ....with the space between the c and the / ..?

Are you running w2k or xp?

Do you find the MFC dll in the system 32 files? ...click on properties and tell me what it says.

(PM me if I don't respond ....kind of busy with stuff at the moment ..so I may forget to check back):)

    Timw,

the "Incorrect MFC Dll versions installed on the system, minimum requirement is MFC SP4 Dlls" message that keeps popping up and even if I hit okay or try to close out, it comes back in a couple seconds.

I typed is sfc / scannow the black box opens, but quickly goes away and it does not come back.

As for the MFC files. Neither the MFC dll nor MFC SP4 Dll files are in my system 32.

    And I am running XP.

Attached is the list of system 32 file so you can see if there is anything funny going on.

    Thank you,

    Dean

You need to type it just like this :

    sfc(space)/scannow
    (run it twice!)

    If that doesn't work:
Run MSCONFIG (click start, run, type msconfig, and then choose the startup tab with windows xp) Uncheck them one by one until you find the culprit. When you find it, find out if you need it. If not needed then remove it and if you do need it then you probably need an update from the vendor.

    This may also help:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...62-89ae-410a-b34b-471e3c09ce98&displaylang=en

Under the system32 folder ...keep scrolling down ...you should find the MFC dll's.
