MG ranks

Hi all,
What are the classifications for the ranks given under peoples names in MG?
I remember being a private E-2 not so long ago, i've seen specialist and other ones. Does anybody know what the quota's are to reach different rank's?

 

It changes every 100, until 1000, then you kinda lose track and don't care or Kodo gives you that personal touch

You usually get a special rank once you become a regular in the forums and make friends with the other regulars.

 

Or do or say something that earns you a title, whether you like it or not.

 

You must of said something quite intellectual to get that sgt tibbs.

ROFL! T'wasn't that big a deal...I just ran out in a skirt to get thermal paste so I could upgrade my desktop.

 

i never heard that befor please do tell i got mine i guess from the platypus (ie kodo) for the car i drive

 

one of the mods should just create a thread showing the ranks and then pin it.

 

There's really nothing more to tell...I hadn't done laundry, but I had all the parts I needed except thermal paste for the upgrade. So instead of waiting until I did laundry, I ran out in my "dressy girl" clothes and got some. Someone made a comment about being an ultra geek to do that, and AbbySue apparently agreed.

 

Well, Kirk...I think it all just depends the on the mood that everybody is in!!!!

I've been hanging around for about a year now and it hasn't seemed to make any difference as to what my title is!!!! Not that I really care!!!! (Other that my post count!!)

I have to say, hwoever...This is a great bunch to hang around...no matter the situation!!!! So I hope you stick around for awhile and you enjoy your stay!!!!!

You will find a very nice balance of knowledge & humor in these halls...and at the same time...it seems as though, no matter what you say...nobody is here to judge or intentionally make you feel like an idiot!!!!!!

yes kodo is the guy who gives out custom titles..... look at the one he gave me just because i told some lady to get out of the dark ages and buy a dvd player

It took me a while, but I'd say I can anvigate this OS faster than Windows now. That, and Dashboard, Expose, and the fact that dang near everything in the OS has keyboard shortcuts, I feel I am more prodocutive on it too.

Maybe my title should be, Have you tried it in Root?

 

Hmmm, I find that using "windows key" + R is a quick way to run certain commands. I rarely "double click" on items to run them. MSword? winword. Firefox? Firefox...

I also find that I'm using quite a bit of "command line" programs lately. I prefer, I find stuff faster via command line (instead of the GUI refreshing the screen as it finds things).

With the beta version of the "new" shell that Vista (longhorn server) is coming out with, I can do things quite quickly. Though, editing the registry (or navigating) I'm quite proficient with just using regedit/regedt32.

In the end, I find typing faster then using the mouse.
