Mg Videos Not Workin

ok I have win 7 pro without sp1 , ie9. all of a sudden videos on mg from Tim and on you tube have a black screen (where the video plays) . I have updated flash player and have turned activx on and off, disabled and enabled add ons ,even downloaded youtube player still same problem ,could this be ie 9 going out ? would ie 10 help the problem? I have ran wise care 365,also kaspersky cleaner and parts of windows repair toolbox,advance sys.care,and ccleaner. can't understand what the problem is. any ideas? help? solutions?

 

Try Firefox or Chrome to determine if it is browser related. If you haven't done that troubleshooting all the other things you list are not relevant.

 

yup, it mite be browser ,chrome shows all videos, what can I do to ie 9 to make it work? I've tried resetting ie 9 , changed the scripting, deleated cach and history, I have smart screen filter on ,tracking protection on,active x off, flash enabled, what else can it be? I'm stumped ,what am I overlooking?

 

If it was my system, I would update with Service Pack 1 and upgrade to IE10

 

you think that would solve the problem?

mine was doing that, I would just hit refresh a few times and it would come back.

 

If you're going to install SP1 for Windows 7, you might as well go with Internet Explorer 11.

what advantages would I have installing sp 1?

You cannot install IE10 or 11 without SP1.

 

right , but are their advantages to the upgrades?

 

I run Windows 7 Ultimate without SP1 and consequently have no idea what the realtime advantages to SP1 is.
Microsoft and others will tell you about security, etc. without going into detail.

As for Internet Explorer 11, it's the only version still supported by Microsoft as of January 12, 2016.
Disqus, used by MajorGeeks.com and numerous other sites, no longer support IE9 or 10. It's just a matter of time before other sites also drop support.

 

yeah, I've run into some sites that don't respond to ie 9 . what version of ie are you running?

 

IE 9, and when there's a problem I switch to Mozilla Firefox 45.

 

yup, I have chrome as a backup but don't use it much unless its on a site that ie 9 don't work on.
