MGclean.bat didn't reset my options?

    I ran MGclean.bat and rebooted my PC but the hidden files and the file extensions are still showing.. last time I had a virus running MGclean.bat reset this back to where they didn't show up. but this time it didn't do that

    what should I do? It's not a big deal, I just dont like seeing that crap:-D

    Yes MGClean.bat does try to import a registry patch to reset things back to default. This could fail for any number of reasons including things like protection software blocking the registry change, permissions issues due to UAC running on Vista or Win7 PC.... and similar. It is quite simple to put them back to defaults. You could do the inverse of the manual instructions given in the below link which is in step 3 of the READ & RUN ME:

    Or you could just apply the below registry patch.

    Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixme.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
    Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
    to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.
