then it asks if I want to choose a program or use the web to find a program to open it. What do I do.

Here is my combofix log for starters. Symptoms are slooooow boot, sluggish system with hard drive working most of the time. It took 6 or 7 hours to back up without compression 36 gigs to an external hard drive the other day. Have run all spyware known to mankind including Spybot in safe mode. Have scanned hard drive with fix options with two programs. Have done an XP Prof repair twice. No improvements what so ever.

Any pointers would be appreciated. I will forward mgtools log when we get it to run.

    Here is the hijack log

Don't know if this is any help or not. Went into the mgtools folder within c:\ and ran analyse.exe to get it.

You need to attach all of the requested logs for us to checkout. You still need to attach logs from the below

    • SUPERAntiSpyware
    • Malwarebytes
    • MGtools
You did not explain in detail what you mean by "mgtools- bat file won't open". You are not supposed to be running any of the BAT files at this initial point. You should be downloading the MGtools.exe file to your root folder ( C:\ ) and running it. Then you need to attach the C:\MGlogs.zip file that is created.

However all that being said, I doubt your problems are due to malware, but until we see all the logs, we cannot be sure.

I did as you said, it was in the root directory and when I ran mgtools it in turn must initiate a bat file which generated the error message. I did however run the bat files manually. Logs are attached, see below post where I uploaded them.

You need to attach the logs files I requested in my last message.

And if you are having problems running MGtools, did you look to see if you are getting any of the error messages mention in the Using MGtools link given in the READ & RUN ME.
