    I got this infection today ....
    It has removed c: drive access
    Also it has removed program button
    It displays an add to remove infections for 34.95
    My cd rom drive is not reconized now

    and the only web site I can get into is the download for ms...

    I've ran ccleaner (thru desktop icon ) and reg cleaner

    I've tried starting in safe mode... same thing...

    HELP

    Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.


    If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.

    Note:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can running steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:

    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools on another PC and burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.

    Thanks for your reply Tim...
    The infection was designed in such a way that I could not access any programs to fight it....It did leave the ccleaner and Pc tool anti-virus on desktop....Although pc tool av froze after starting program..

    I came to the conclusion the only way I could fight this was with a self starting cd......And windows xp was all I had (or could find).. I formated hard drive and reloaded windows....Hated to lose all my files, but needed my computer.....
