Microphone Headace

    Can't my mic to work, the color coded plug on the mic does not match color on my PC. On the back of the PC there are two or three ports with the microphone icon, go figure.

    The mic is an old Gateway microphone that I used once when I had Win 98 I now am running Win XP and a newly built PC, I am using a Sound Blaster Audigy card and it is working fine I can hear music and other files. Nothing is muted, when I do the various tests with the mic there is no sound level, somebody please help.

    By the way i just hooked up the mic to another machine and it IS working fine.

    Advance Controls for Microphone are greyed out please help
