    HYE GUYS,

Ive got this problem. When I go to Master Volume Control, there is no Microphone Slider Option but it appears on Recording Control. How can this be?

Im doing internet radio,so this kind of problem make it hard for me. The wave slider and mic slider must be work alternatively on master control. Or is there any other way?

    HELP ME PLEASE.:cry

    Hi

I just noted your post in passing, have a look at your audio properties via the control panel in XP not sure about vista...See what you have set for playback and recording options you may have something different for each of the options in these tabs like recording control, playback device etc...

If your no joy, also have a look in the device manager and see what audio device you are using, if you have onboard audio and an expansion audio card (eg not built into the mother board) like a soundblaster audigy or similar then ensure this is selected for the appropriate recording or playback in sound properties. You might want to check to be sure the onboard is audio if any is disabled in the bios otherwise this may causr an IRQ conflict which you can check via the device manager on the audio properties.

I recently installed the Soundblaster Audigy and had all sorts of fun with it initially, untill i checked which IRQ (interupt request) it was using and found about four other devices all trying to run through the same irq, once this was sorted it was all joy and happiness...oh also check your drivers well your at it.

The other thing it might be is there are options in the (FILE) menu for volume control the one that lists maater volume wave microphone etc.. you can select which options to display and therfore in turn adjust in retrospect you may want to check this out as its the least complicated / time consuming of the options I've listed ...Good luck:wave

errr...im using acer laptop and XP.

I read your post, and Ive tried.

But, I dont get it when you say about the (FILE) menu for volume control(The one that lists the master volume, wave, microphone, and etc)

    Here is what ive seen in mine;

    Master Volume :

Master Volume | Wave | SW Synth | CD Player | SPDIF | PC Beep

    Recording Control :

Line Volume | Mic Volume(it should be it master volume) | Stereo Mix

The problem occurs when I only can tick for the Stereo Mix, so I cant use my Microphone.

Ive looked at my friends panel, the Mic Volume appears under the Master Volume.

    Thanks for helping.:wave

    ok, Ill make it simple.

It is just that I want to use Mic and Stereo Mic together at the same time.

    And again, A BIG THANKS.

    Hi again,

In the field with the master volume wave microphone etc in the top left of this window there should be some options, somewhere in there is the option to add or remove device's from for playback and another for recording etc you can add fields to the main window with the master volume which will display the main window that your looking at with the master control in it have a good look in here add everything thats available just to be sure, my desktop at home has about 7 or so devices, such as master, wave, microphone, line in, spidif etc..

laptops can be tricky though full of proprietry software, you might want to fling acer support an quick e to clarify if this can be done.

If you are trying to play audio through two devices at the same time watch for a performance hit that might put the playback a little out of sync depending on the available resources or conflicts With IRQ's typically audio and some other devices like video will go through IRQ five this IRQ can be a bit of a choke point because of the heavy demands placed on it.

Can you please clarify precisely what you are trying to achieve. So I can try and narrow your options and be more precise with my reply. As far as I'm aware :confused you can only playback / record through one device at a time unless you have more than one device, say like onboard audio and an audio expansion card eg soundblaster...you may find it easier with the stereo depending on what you are usng the microphones for...or to go to your local electronics shop and get a stereo to mono, or vicea versa, converter / adapter under $5 there are double plugs into a single so 2 devices can be plugged into the same fitting into the one port if you are trying some sort of microphone or recording...goodluck wont be online this weekend so wont be able to get back to you until monday night (pacific time)...lettuce know how you get on...:cool:wave
