microphone sound problems.

    hi all,

    i am having a problem getting my microphone working.. i though it was the mic at first so i tried it in old machine and its fine.
    i plug it into the microphone slot but when i try to use it i get no sound at all.

    motherboard is asus a8v deluxe, using onboard 5.1 sound.
    xp home edition
    trust mc220g microphne
    athlon 939 xp 3500

    please help.

    ok forget the idiot who posted here,

    just realised like an idiot after checking a many coplicated things as possible that i didnt unmute my microphone....
