I have downloaded Microsoft Antispyware and updated and tested it in normal mode. But while in Safe mode, I cannot get it to work. I keep getting a error message saying, "unexpected error; quitting" - I have tried uninstalling and starting over, same results.

What do I need to do to figure out the problem? thanks

Is this related to what is going on in your other thread: http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=81440

If so, you should have mentioned it in that thread when you said you ran the READ & RUN ME.. Please stay in one thread for problems related to what you are currently working on.

I'm not sure what is causing this problem. It could be happening if you do not have the proper permissions on the user account while in safe mode. But normally to boot in safe mode the user account must have admin priviledges. I think this is a bug Microsoft as not yet fixed having to do with limited accounts.

What version of Win XP do you have: Home, Media, Pro?

It is possible that the info from JPnyc @ 12-04-2005, 12:20 PM in this link will help: http://forums.datamation.com/archive/index.php/t-674.html
