is microsoft frontpage ok to use for writeing pages ? it seems like i heard something about it includeing a code line that says the person has to be useing internet explorer to view the page or something like that.

i know you can write the page in any notepad or any word processor but i like the little view tab.

so if microsoft frontpage isn't good because .... .. because well it's microsoft and they are tricky bastards

then what is a good FREE program that i can use. i dont' want anything fancy that will do the work for me, i just want a "view" tab. so i can see what it looks like.

i think this is good to have if you are learning and don't want things to look sloppy when you publish it you know.

^^ good link! i dont like frontpage because it adds a lot of unnececary code to the page (a LOT) which makes it hard to manage. Personally i use Macromedia Dreamweaver for designing as it doesnt add nearly as much random code and is quick and easy to boot. However, its not anything like free.
