It should be obvious that I was not making a claim, only passing along a news item.

In spite of negative comments about the Windows 8 interface, it's note worthy that
WinMetro is the most popular download on the Appearance software page.
Clearly, there is a lot of interest, but many people do not want to be permanently tied to it.
I haven't tried it yet because I'm new to Windows 7, but eventually I'll join the ranks.

It seems that regardless of the topic, particularly in these "informal" forums, the discussion often slides
into lessons of communication and testing the limits of civility and tact.
99% of the time, after winding around and through a bit, it works out in the end, and we're all a bit wiser.

Until the next time .... memories slip.

It doesn't matter if you are among friends or not. When entering an internet forum, leave your feelings and attitudes at the door. ;)

Majorgeeks has the best information especially when it comes to Microsoft/Windows topics. Short-precise-informative answers are awesome here. They usually aren't meant to be but can seem abrasive.

Leave feelings and attitudes at the door. I like that.

Also, do unto others as you want them to do unto you. If you are rude, expect the same in return. Don't take it personal, just chalk it up to experience and know better next time.

Namecalling gets a little ridiculous too (yep it happened here).

I was referring to "informal" forums, like the Lounge.

Feelings and Attitudes are often the Topic and subject matter. :confused

Some internet forums are intended to be used that way.

Fair enough. I'll say then that I (try to) leave my feelings and attitudes at the door. I've been taken wrong way too many times. It's easier to just not take the internet too seriously.

Yes indeed they do, I've been in the UK Microsoft Research base and the UK HO many times and you are 100% correct they do have other tools and hardware to use, be really daft of a large company not too, bet Apple have Windows machines in use also.

Would be draconian of Microsoft to state employees could not use a personal iPhone or Android device and a small story about one of my trips to MSFT UK HO, and in a roundtable discussion the topic went to what phones has everyone got, 90% had iPhones and a lot where MS staff, a few years later same question came up and only 50% of the group (around 70) had other devices than Windows Phone 7 or 8's
