    Hi,

    I have Windows XP Pro.

Yesterday I connected a new printer, HP Officejet 5610 All-In-One Printer. It works great. I had no problems installing the software/settings.

However, when I rebooted my pc and started Dia-A-Fix and tried to run Registration Center, I received a number of messages that said that the dll couldn't be found. I clicked on ignore for each one, thinking that they were for my old printer. Everything worked fine so I was planning on uninstalling Dial-A-Fix and reinstalling it so that it wouldn't have the dll's in it from my old printer.

Last night, I ran Repair Permissions using Dial-A-Fix. It ran with no problems and I had no problems doing anything with my computer last night.

This morning is a different story. I receive the following message when I booted up my pc:

When I clicked on Ignore I received a message that said:

    Windows Installer

Preparing to install . . . (a list of about 50 installations but none of them could be installed because the file couldn't be found.) I put my Windows XP Pro disk in the CD ROM drive, hoping that it would find the file it needed on it, but it didn't. The list was never ending so I rebooted my pc. The process started all over again but I just ignored it and came here :) (I love you guys)

I had one time installed .NETFramework 2.0 but it caused problems in my pc so I uninstalled it. Microsoft continues to send me updates for it even though I reverted back to 1.0, so I'm not sure if this problem is related to .NETFramework.

Can someone tell me what I need to do?

Please see this Microsoft KB titled, You receive an exception when running .NET application on a computer that does not have Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) installed, and let us know if it helps your situation.

    Hi Mada_Milty,

    Thanks :)

Which one should I download and install?

There are 54 other downloads available.

I believe this is the one that will work for you. There is also a service pack available for this at this link

    Hi Mada_Milty,

As I mentioned above, I kept receiving the message:
Please wait while Windows configures TrayApp.
    and
Error 1796: No valid source could be found for product TrayApp. The Windows Installer cannot continue.

I thought that since I installed the software for the printer, TrayApp should have been on the disk, so I put the disk in my CD ROM drive and it got the info it from it that it needed and that problem was solved. I rebooted 2 times to make sure that the problem wouldn't resurface and it didn't, and neither did the Microsoft .NETFramework problem appear again.

Should I still install the MDCA files?
