I run Windows XP SE. I had no need for Microsoft Office and it was giving me trouble with my HP Printer. I uninstalled Office and have noticed no problems, but noticed that a lot of files still in the Registry. I would like to know if it would be safe to delete these files from the Registry? I know that lots of folks love and some need "Office", but I only want to know if I should clear the Registry of these files. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Download and run CCleaner and use the Issues option to scan the reg... go thru the list and check all the Office entries to clear 'em out. You'll probably see lots of other invalid entries listed and CCleaner is pretty good about listing safe reg entries to delete. But- care should always be taken when deleting registry keys, so use CCleaner's reg backup option before deleting anything.
CCleaner is listed in the Drive Cleaner section right here at 'the Geeks' and it's free. Use the 'slim' version w/o the Yahoo toolbar.

Off topic, but you are telling us, that you do not need to create Spreadsheets for home financing, or writing a letter in Word? Even if you have Works, Office is a great tool to have just in case you need to write a letter, create a Spreadsheet, make a handout, etc.

Thanks Guys for responding to my request. I have become so accustomed to doing everything in Works, especially Works 8. I don't do any office work, financial or otherwise. Thanks again.
