microsoft outlook express problem

    hi there,
    i wounder if any can help me.
    Just recently both my Outlook express and thunderbird have been acting stranglely.
    by that i mean they both take time to download and then they time out.
    and i keep on getting a duplicate mail with the ones that managed to get through.
    Also the server keeps comming up localhost ip.request denied.
